Valentine's Day Polymer Clay Name Pendant Tutorial

I made these pendants to give as gifts for Valentine's Day this year.
They were so simple to make & easy to customize for the recipient.
I loved the way they turned out!

Materials:

   Pasta Machine or Clay Roller
Polymer Clay (I used Premo in White and Pearl)
Scrap piece of Lace
Scrap piece of Tulle
Heart Cutter
Mini Alphabet Stamps
Needle tool
Makeup Brush
Mica Powder (optionally, you could use eye shadow that you don’t plan on using again! or chalk)

Be sure to only use clay dedicated items for your clay projects.

Using the largest setting on the pasta machine roll out your clay, then fold the clay in half,
smoothing out any air pockets.
Next cut out the heart shape with your cutter.

Place the tulle over half of the heart shape & press it into the clay lightly with your fingertips.

Working on the opposite side of the heart, do the same with the lace.

Lightly dust the clay with the mica powder.
Dust the powder over the lace side two more times,
to darken it slightly more than the tulle side.

Use an applicator to apply the powder to the alphabet stamp,
stamp a bit gently into the clay.
(Apply just enough pressure to make an impression without distorting the clay.)

Using your needle tool, poke a hole in the top corner.
It's a good idea to go through the front of the clay as well as the back,
so that the hole is even on both sides.
I also embellished mine with a tiny heart, made to look like a button.

Bake your pendant according to the manufacturers suggested directions.

Once the clay is completely cooled,
add a jump ring, and optionally a tiny bow and a piece of tulle.

Attach it to a necklace chain, and your finished!
